Established in 1981 the honor organization recognizes top university students each semester from all majors who have demonstrated the highest standard of academic excellence, and who also have pursued a broad exposure to courses in the arts, sciences and humanities.
A psychology major at Mississippi State University-Meridian, Potate was president of the MSU-Meridian student association, Vice President of the Psychology Club, Historian for Psi Chi National Honor Society, a Riley scholar and earned a 4.0 GPA. She is a 2010 graduate of Calvary Christian School and was member of Dimensions, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and Circle of Excellence at Meridian Community College.
She plans to attend the University of Southern Mississippi this fall and complete her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology.
